Virgo Health has expanded its Health Education division with the appointment of medical doctor, Dr Ajay Aggarwal. At Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Ajay worked in a number of specialties including acute medicine, gastroenterology and colorectal surgery. He also spent some time in dermatology and general practice and his broad experience provides valuable insights to our Health Education division. He holds a first class degree in cardiovascular science and graduated from his medical school with honours.
Ajay says, “From my experience on the frontline of healthcare provision, I’m able to generate solid and continued insights about how doctors continue to learn and keep up-to-date. By truly understanding the challenges faced by healthcare professionals and patients, we’re able to deliver creative medical educational programmes that have impact.”
Throughout Ajay’s student and clinical career, he has been trying to identify more efficient ways to enhance patient care through empowering doctors. He developed a virtual clinic for patients with skin diseases, to improve monitoring and follow up in a cost-effective way. Recognising the need for doctors to lead the changes for improving care, he also chaired the Member Recruitment and Student Engagement Workstream at the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
Virgo Health Education is led by Katherine Mantell and was recently awarded the accolade of Medical Education Consultancy of the Year at the Communiqué Awards, which are designed to recognise excellence and best practice in healthcare communications. Katherine commented, “By having Dr Aggarwal as a fully-fledged member of our team, we can ensure that we always have healthcare professional insights at our finger tips. We are looking forward to harnessing his experience as a practising doctor to further expand our offering and build upon our human centric approach to medical learning.”
This month, the Health Education team has also welcomed Medical Writer, Dr Ana Tadeu; Account Manager Sophie Wraight and Account Executive Saima Khan.
