Virgo Health has strengthened its digital and creative offering with the appointment of Nicole Burns as Social Media Strategist and Paul Andrews as Head of Design. Both will sit within the ‘Virgo Pharmacy’ – a creative studio for Virgo’s digital, design and innovation content.
Both appointments reflect the recent explosion in the growth of multi-format communications in a traditionally conservative market and Virgo’s drive to apply best-in-class creative strategy and execution. Virgo’s Chief Global Creative Officer, Rebecca Rhodes says, “Like any other, audiences in the healthcare space have come to expect more human and personalised forms of communication and there is a greater demand for more inspiring and ultimately creative forms of engagement than we have ever seen in our industry before. With this mind, we are delighted to welcome Nicole and Paul to the Virgo team and with their expertise look forward to developing even bolder, braver campaigns that capture the attention of our clients’ audiences.”
Joining from digital marketing agency Spinnaker, Nicole has deep expertise in social media strategy and implementation of complex paid for and organic social media campaigns, as well as advanced social listening and analytics skills. She brings with her insights from a broad range of categories including entertainment, charity, fashion and FMCG. “Humans have an innate desire to connect with each other,” Burns says “and with modern technology, specifically social media, they can now make these connections on a huge scale. I’m really looking forward to helping Virgo’s clients navigate the intricate social media landscape and connect with their audiences on a relevant and personal level.”
Paul joins from Ogilvy Healthworld and brings nearly 10 years’ experience working across a broad portfolio of healthcare campaigns in PR, advertising and medical education. An all-round creative, his work encompasses the full spectrum of the creative process from creative strategy and design thinking to visual execution using graphic and motion design. Paul says, “While content will always be king, the way in which we present that content is critical to a campaigns success. Healthcare professionals, patients, carers – they are all consumers and as consumers they crave visually engaging forms of communication. With ‘The Pharmacy’ Virgo is already one step ahead when it comes to harnessing innovation and creativity to generate award winning campaigns and I’m looking forward to pushing those boundaries even further.”
